Recommended Content
The following table is to be used to identify Content that is recommended for inclusion in the public school curriculum. There is a perception that our public schools are not adequately "socializing" our young in the political and economic heritage of our nation, or in the basic values and beliefs system upon which they are based, leaving them ill-prepared to fulfill their responsibilities as responsible citizens in a republic with a free market economy.
Most columns seem self-explanatory. Media may be essay, book, video, software package or similar. Political, economic, character may be one or more of the three. Content source would be the recommended purchasing source for the media, where known. Comments are anything else that seems to warrant public mention. Recommended by is intended to reflect the (hopefully 3) volunteers who recommended the content. Additional lines will be inserted where needed to show multiple selections per grade level (see example for 1st grade below)
Please note that in order to get the content into public schools, it must be non-sectarian in nature. We are not here to fight the "separation of church and state" issue, but to improve the curriculum in public schools.
The table is provided in simple form here so that it is visible to everyone and open for comment. Please forward comments and suggestions to
