Obama Returning to Cleveland
President Obama is scheduled to return to Cleveland next week, presumably to personally thank major donors in Cleveland. While he is here, perhaps they can thank him for Cleveland's unemployment rate, which appears to exceed the national unemployment rate by a full 2 points.
Obama Shut-in at Martha's Vineyard
Enjoying his sixth vacation of the summer, President Obama was shut-in at the Martha's Vineyard farm by rain for a second straight day. Fortunately he is only half way through his ten day vacation, and should have several sunny days left.
Michelle Obama is highly annoyed by the weather. She did not have to put up with such inconveniences during her lavish trip to Spain to console an old friend for something trivial.
Blue Heron Farm, the spacious $20 million estate the First Family has rented at Martha's Vineyard, is budget priced at a cost to the taxpayers of somewhere between $35,000 and $50,000 a week.
Compared to the Obama's, King Farouk was a penny-pincher. But then, he was spending his own money.
Obama Supports Mosque
at Ground Zero
President Barack Obama on Friday forcefully endorsed building a mosque near ground zero, saying the country's founding principles demanded no less.
"As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country," Obama said, weighing in for the first time on a controversy that has riven New York City and the nation.
Obama made the comments at an annual dinner in the White House State Dining Room celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Republican Senators Cave In
Allow Kagan to be Confirmed
Once again a hand full of Senators who run in the Primary as republicans have caved in to the radical Left and allowed Kagan to be confirmed as a Supreme Court Justice. This betrayal will affect us for a generation.
The betrayers were Collins and Snowe from Maine (of course - can't we get a conservative group going in Maine to put these two out to pasture?), Lyndsey (GrAmnesty) Graham of South Carolina, Lugar of Indiana and Gregg of New Hampshire. These people all need opponents in their next Primary.
Political parties are like a car. They go where the driver points them. They go whether it is Mother Theresa driving, or Judas Iscariot. That is why we need independent conservative groups like MCFAN to continue to grow in strengh and influence, and hold politicians' feet to the fire when their own political party will not. It is why conservatives need to run for Central Committee and other party positions, to ensure we have free and competitive Primary elections where the voters can choose the best candidate, rather than to allow our choices to be limited to those approved by a liberal or moderate party "power elite".
There are those who put Party over Principle, and will vote for Saul Alinsky if Saul Alinsky were put on the ballot by their party. There must be more of us that vote in the party primaries who put principle over party. We need to keep our independence as well as our flexibility, and become the "tail that wags the dog" of both political parties.
What's On The Left?
We have discovered a grea new resource to familiarize yourself with our opponents on the left. Unsurprisingly, it is from David Horowitz' Freedom Center: http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/default.asp
Obama Needs Voter Fraud!
The Obama/Pelosi/Reid regime is taking seriously the possibility of a voter backlash this November to their wanton disregard of majority opinion. The Department of Justice is planning not to prosecute any cases of voter fraud, unless it is committed by conservatives. Fat chance.
Obama Vacations Again!
Vacationing now in Maine with a full schedule of expensive events (on your tab), President Obama is resting up from the exhausting demands of doing nothing about the oil spill, nothing about private sector jobs, and nothing about illegal aliens. Is this or the third or fourth vacation since the Gulf oil spill began?
Private Sector Job Growth Triples!
In May only 4,000 private sector jobs were newly created nationwide. That's about at the cost of $4 million per job, if the Stimulus were spent equally by month. Not good. Much better not. In June 13,000 private sector jobs were created nationwide, about 1 job per $1.5 million. Much better.
NEA Bribes Teachers
The NEA is trying to sneak through "grants" of $1000 for teachers who teach environmental conscientiousness to our public school kids. Translation: Teachers are being bribed with $1000 apiece to indoctrinate kids in "global warming". Demand a list of teachers getting that grant from your school board, and do what seems appropriate about it.
Supreme Court
Upholds 2nd Amendment
In a major setback for the radical left the Supreme Court has ruled that the Bill of Rights applies to everyone in the US, even people from a "People's Republic" states and "Culture of Corruption" cities.
Cordray Trumps DeWine
Attorney General Cordray has applauded the Supreme Court decision upholding the 2nd Amendment. Challenger Mike DeWine, who became notorious as a Senator (and soon an ex-Senator) because of his "F" rating from the NRA, the lowest 2nd Amendment score of any Republican, had nothing nice to say about it.
Common Denominator
Last month only 4,000 jobs were added to the private sector nationwide. This continued crisis is used by the Obama administration to promote additional government "stimulus" spending and debt. Obama was overhead opposing securing the Mexican border, because it would diminish the crisis and result in reduced support for his Amnesty proposal. Obama is using the Coast Guard to prevent people on the Gulf of Mexico to take matters in their own hands to minimize the damage of the oil spill. This would diminish the crisis that justifies his takeover of the energy industry. Hmm. Is there a common denominator in there?
"Never let a crisis go to waste" - Rahm Emanuel. It is more than an Allinskyite saying. It is national policy.
McCrystal Forced to Resign
The Rolling Stone article that led to McChrystal's termination is on our Worthwhile Reads page. Read it yourself and draw your own conclusions. We did.
The only thing we saw where McChrystal could be considered critical of the President that he voted for, was the remark that Obama "seemed disengaged" the one time they met.
Disengaged like he has been on creating jobs? Disengaged like he has been on securing the borders? Disengaged like he has been on the oil spill? McChrystals' comment is very pale compared to Obama lover Chris Matthews' demand to know "what planet has he been on for the last 57 days?" Disengaged?
We agree with the pundit who deemed Obama's reaction as "childish". He just can't handle criticism.
Dance with the Devil
McChrystal voted for Obama. No matter.
BP has fallen all over itself to ingratiate itself with Obama, at every opportunity, and given nearly a million bucks to his campaign. No matter.
Al Capone would have cut the throat of his closest relative. No matter. It's the Chicago way.
Obama Swings Into Action
After almost two months of ... of ... of what? Besides vacation and hobnobbing with Paul McCartney?
Obama will name a "blue ribbon" panel of Nobel prize winners to study the oil spill in the Gulf and make recommendations. Maybe by Christmas.
Well, at least that's more likely to motivate BP to fix the problem than sending boatloads of government lawyers to pin all blame on BP, so that Oilbama will "know whose ass to kick" as he says.
Observation: There is a real difference between the mental architecture of a Democrat named Truman who said "The buck stops here", and the mental architecture of an Oilbama who is always looking for someone else to blame, as he does nothing but live large at taxpayer expense and diligently read the teleprompter right below the TV camera.
Check it out. His eyes are focused below the camera throughout the speech.
Even MSNBC is throwing up their arms in disgust over Oilbama, the clueless. Carter was better than this. Why did this misfit have to be the first black President?
Day 56 Oilbama is on it!
On day 56 of the oil spill President Oilbama was exploring some of the options he could have used to limit the damage 56 days ago. Perhaps someone told him that people no longer accept his constantly blaming other people.
Good News, Bad News
There is good news on the economic front, and Obama is taking full credit for it. As he should. Superficial unemployment is now down from 9.9 to 9.7 percent, with 431,000 new jobs.
Bad news? 411,000 of those jobs are temporary government jobs. That must be Bush's fault.
Obama Indecisive
Once again the most indecisive President in US history dithers as the environmental disaster in the Gulf spreads. How many months will it take before he responds to his "Katrina"? How many months before the Obama administration stops interfering with the State of Louisiana taking steps to protect itself from Obama administration negligence?
Dem Attack Dog Slurps Obama
Former Clinton campaign manager and perennial democrat party attack dog James Carville has given Obama the highest praise the President has received to date for his handling of the Gulf Oil Disaster, calling it "lackadaisical". Well, that's better than "lack of experience".
Obama Vacationing Again?!
You have to hand it to Obama, he is not one of these "all work and no play" people. He understands that his rest and relaxation are far more important than jobs, health care, amnesty for illegal aliens, crisis in the middle east and certainly the oil spill. He is currently planning his second vacation since the oil spill began. And you thought Bush was missing in action with Katrina?
Obama Condemns Finger Pointing

Weeks after the "Obama Katrina" oil spill with still nothing done (except sending a SWAT team of lawyers to fix blame), Obama has taken to the teleprompters to condemn those who would "point fingers" and fix blame on others. Unless, of course, it was to "blame Bush". The Obama administration Justice Department issued a warning that the White House has exclusive authority to blame others.
Meanwhile the Federal Emergengy Management Administration is still trying to determine in which part of hurricane ravaged New Orleans the Gulf of Mexico is located. They need to prevent unauthorized aid from reaching the area.
See the website:
http://www.restoreamericanliberty.com/illegal.html
for important information about the illegal alien amnesty legislation.
Elena Kagen... nominated for Supreme Court Judge
by Barack Obama.
This is not just another pretty face!
Are you ready... This woman has not a single day's experience as a judge!
At least Barack Obama demands from his appointees the same high standard that he has met; no relevant experience for the job.
Conservatives Pick Up
County Committee Seats
Conservative candidates appear to have won at least 40% of their campaigns for election to county Central Committee seats statewide. Many county GOP were already conservative grassroots organizations. Now more of them will be.
Congratulations to Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher for his election to Central Committeeman in Lucas County!
Ohio Republican Party
Shoots Itself in the Foot
The Ohio Republican Party appears to have spent over $1 million to Get Out The Vote for its slate of endorsed candidates for the Primary. Guesstimates are that the Party outspent the "unendorsed" candidates by
anywhere from 10-1 to 100-1 or even more.
In spite of the disparity in spending, the conservative grassroots picked up a minimum of eight seats on the State Central Committee and retained all seats of more than a dozen conservative incumbents. Many more seats were hotly contested.
In the process the Ohio Republican Party has deepened the divide between itself and the "grassroots". Come November, how does the Party plan to reverse the trend of the Democratic Party raking in more donations than the Republican Party, fielding more grassroots volunteers than the Democratic Party when it has just made it clear that it doesn't like "the grassroots people", and spend more money to get its candidates elected than the Democrats, when it has already spent all the money on the Primary?
If we don't win big in November, Barack Obama will have the Ohio Republican Party to thank.
Oil Slick Priorities
White House Press Secretary Bob Gibbs has made it clear where the Obama Regime's priorities lie. He said the administration will put a boot on the throat of British Petroleum to make them pay for the oil leak that Washington has ignored for over a week. We presume that is a World War II German infrantry ("jack") boot.
Isn't that a different approach to disasters? It used to be that everyone would rush in to help, and worry later about identying the cause, preventing recurrence and punishing anyone culpable. The Obama regime's first instincts are to fix blame (on someone else) and punish them. Stopping the oil leak itself does not seem to be a priority to them. Kind of like having firemen rush to a burning house, arresting the owner and putting him in jail, and then going back to the station while the fire continues to burn.
The Obama Nation -
Soft Target for Terrorists
In recent months we have been attacked three times by terrorists. Two, the attempted Christmas bombing of an airliner and now the attempted car bombing of Times Square, have failed due to the incompetence of the terrorists (and the alertness of the New York City Police Department). One, the attack at Fort Hood, was successful, ending the eight years of safety provided under the Bush Administration. Thus far the Obama regime has not attacked the NYPD for usurping federal authority over acts of terrorism, as it did with Arizona usurping federal authority over illegal immigration.
Foiled Again!
The Obama administration is furious over the "lack of communication and coordination" in the terrorist community. The attempted car bombing of Times Square has completely pulled the rug out from under its efforts to put Kalick Sheikh Mohammed on "trial" in New York City for his role in the 9-1-1 attack.
Washington Moves Rapidly to Control Damage
Stung by criticism that it spent the first week after the gulf oil leak attacking the State of Arizona for trying to get the floor of illegal aliens under control (since the federal government won't do its job), the Obama administration is working hard to control the damage ... not the ecological damage from the oil but the damage to the reputation of the government as the solution to all problems. Such an oil leak was foreseen long ago and a contingency plan was put in place in 1994. Unfortunately, the government never acquired the equipment needed to carry out the plan.
A SWAT team of lawyers has been sent from Washington to the site of the disaster to fix
blame on the private sector, and make sure that none of it sticks to our radical but inept government.
President Obama is evaluating other measures as well. He may require 90 days or more to make a decision. After all, an ecological disaster isn't exactly as catastrophic as a state government taking the initiative to protect its citizens, without Obama's permission.
Pelosi - Brain Rot?
First they vote on bills that they haven't read. Then they vote on bills that haven't even been written yet. Then they get CBO estimates for bills that aren't even outlined yet. Now they want to pass bills without a vote, violating Article I Section 7 of the U.S. Constitution.
Global Warming Increases!
Believe it or not, that is on the Progress Ohio website.
These leftists just have their brains wired differently. No matter how they calculate it, the answer is always the same.
3 = 4+5
3 = 7+2
3 = 2+2
The answer is always a bigger and more powerful
government ... with
them in charge.
