Volunteer Opportunities!
What can I do?
Read Grassroots 101
Talk to your Friends And Neighbors. Every one of them. Get those who are ready connected with us or another conservative grassroots group.
See a conservative bumper sticker, T-Shirt or a flag in a neighbor's yard? They are one of us. Talk to them. Get them on our distribution list.
Wear your colors so that other people know you're a conservative, and can introduce themselves to you! Bumper stickers, T-Shirts and flags work great. When people talk to you, tell them about our website, and encourage them to get on our distribution list.
The following opportunities are immediately available at Medina County Friends And Neighbors.
1. Data entry
Growing and refining our email, telephone and snail mail list is a never-ending task as our movement grows locally, statewide and throughout the country.
2. Congressional Monitors/State Capitol Monitors
We need volunteers to continuously monitor what is going on in the House and Senate, in Washington and Columbus, and let us know when action is needed.
3. Legislative Analysis
We need volunteers to analyze the impact of proposed legislation so that we can produce summaries to educate the public.
4. Social Network/Coalition Partner Liaison
We need volunteers to participate actively on conservative social networks (e.g., As-A-Mom) to keep us informed of what they are doing and more importantly,
to let them know what we are doing so that they can plug in and get physically involved. Similarly we need people to represent our organization to other groups
(e.g., Tea Party and 9.12 groups) to strengthen communication and coordination of effort.
5. Event Coordinators
We need people who can plan, organize and coordinate public events that educate the public and provide a portal for new recruits.
6. Media Relations
We need people who can draft and push press releases to the Media outlets we have identified throughout the state, or arrange press conferences.
7. Writers
We are constantly looking for more Letters-to-the-Editor, blog, web content and other writers to help influence public opinion.
8. Business Relations
We need people who can build/update a list of commendable businesses that support our cause and which we should support with our business (e.g., Special
Effects of Wellington, OH) and those which are on the wrong side (boycott GE, which owns MSNBC).
9. Promotional Products Design
Use artistic ideas and skills to design T-shirts, bumper stickers, logos, signs that rally the troops and educate the public.
10. Educational Content Evaluator
Evaluate/recommend materials suitable for incorporation into school curriculum/content by age or grade that promotes our constitutional republic, free market
economy or traditional American values. We need to replace books, movies, etc., that promote statism, socialism and amorality for K-12, College, and the
general public through American Friends And Neighbors Education, Inc.
11. School Board liaison/County Commission Liaison/
Attend the meetings and represent the conservative principles. Ensure that schools are teaching our kids what America is all about and how to preserve it,
not to transform it into a politically correct, values-free socialist paradise where there are not People, only Sheeple. Call for a showing of grassroots support
when appropriate.
12. Precinct organizing
Take control of your precinct. Organize conservatives, educate independents, convert liberals. This is the ultimate "ground game" of conservative grassroots.
13. Webmaster.
We maintain two websites, this one and Medina We Surround Them. We can use two more administrators to help keep the websites current, comprehensive
and interesting.
14. YouTube.
We need someone who can help post our content on YouTube.
15. Facebook
We need someone who can set up our Facebook to automatically reflect the changes to our websites, plus administer the Facebook.
16. Office help
Now that we have a physical headquarters, we need at least one volunteer in the office at all times to handle phone calls, drop-in, etc. There is always stuff
to do.
