The Justice Department has prepared a compelling case that the Second Amendment is an individual right, not some convoluted and outdated administrivia regarding national guard units, which did not exist when the Constitution was written. Ronald Reagan - Evil Empire
Ronald Reagan horrified the mainstream media when he referred to the Soviet Union as an "Evil empire". They were afraid that the Soviets would be offended, and it would make them less nice to us. Instead, the Soviet people thought about it and agreed with Reagan. Theirs was an Evil Empire. Between Reagan's message and the moral proof given them by Alexandr Solzhenitsyn, the support of the people of the Soviet Union evaporated.

Ronald Reagan - Tear this Wall Down!
Again Ronald Reagan horrified the mainstream media by demanding that the Berlin Wall, an unquestioned and apparently unchangeable "fact of life" for the Baby Boomers, be torn down. He demanded it of the leader of the Evil Empire, which at that time had a vastly larger military and vastly more numerous nuclear warheads. But there is a power in truth and righteousness that is beyond material numbers. A year later, Gorbachev tore the wall down.

"Read the Bill" Petition Update
A delegation of MCFAN volunteers from the Medina County Fair delivered the "Read the Bill" petitions to Boccieri's office Tuesday. Read all about it (front page on the Gazette) here http://medinagazette.northcoastnow.com/2009/08/26/petition-asks-local-us-reps-to-take-time-with-bills/.
Last Friday another delegation went to the Lorain Office of Congresswoman Betty Sutton. We chose this office because of their rude treatment of a volunteer from Lorain 9.12 Project. True to form, the Congresswoman's spokesperson reacted angrily to a lady who had taken a snapshot of him and the office as she walked in, and threatened to call security to have her thrown out. She was the reporter from the Chronicle-Telegram. What a hoot. The Congressional staff swore that they were absolutely bipartisan and apolitical, before accusing us of being partisan and immediately thereafter launching into a personal attack on former President Bush, and finally pointing out to us which President's picture was on a government aid directory they handed us. As if that matters to us.
